Project challenges

The Valmet plant underwent a major change in its production profile. The existing specialisation in steel structures was to be replaced by mass production of machine clothing, requiring different processes, quality parameters, work organisation and team competencies. The transformation required an experienced person who would take responsibility for the entire project, combine the production, technological and human perspectives, as well as make sure that the change process would happen in a controlled manner, with a clear plan and measurable results.

Expert’s role and experience

Interim Transformation Manager
The expert took responsibility for the comprehensive management of the production line transformation project, from defining the scope and schedule, through coordination of technical work, to ongoing cooperation with management and operational teams. They supported the management board in making decisions regarding production organisation, reported on the progress of work and made sure the changes were permanently embedded in the daily operations of the plant.
Many years of experience in production management and transformation projects in industrial companies, including roles related to plant and production line management.
Practical experience in implementing Lean Management and continuous improvement initiatives, including flow optimisation, work organisation and line efficiency improvement.
Experience in working with international capital groups, combining global standards with local plant realities, as well as working with teams with diverse competencies.
